Bing! PPC Setup from AdWords to adCenter

If you are considering expanding your Google search marketing efforts on Microsoft’s Bing! but have been put off by the cumbersome web interface then it is worth the time to download the adCenter Desktop Editor. Although Microsoft still classify this as a Beta program it has been around for nearly 2 years and offers a few simple features that Google AdWords Editor doesn’t have (more on that later) .

You will need to have Google’s AdWords Editor installed and an account for the campaign already created on Bing’s adCenter.

The process is fairly simple. From the AdWords Editor File – Export spreadsheet menu you can choose to Export Selected Campaigns and Ad Groups.

Within the adCenter Desktop application first download the account information (Account List toolbar button).

Once this is done choose to Import  data and browse for the file from the dialogue box that appears choose the Customer and Account (if there are more than one) .

Depending on the size of your Google AdWords account this may take a little while. Once the data has finished importing you will need to reset your negative keywords and your geographic targeting (if any). Default bids, keyword match types and individual keyword bids will have been imported along with daily spending limits for each campaign. Once you have made your edits to the campaign you can then simply Upload Changes to the account.

Now if the web interface were as simple as AdWords….
